<P>This electronic rendition of Religious Pieces in Prose and Verse consists only of the first three prose pieces, including "Dan Jon Gaytryge's Sermon," "The Mirror of Saint Edmund," and "The Abbey of the Holy Ghost." They were scanned at the University of Michigan HTI, where OCR was subsequently performed with ScanWorx. All material, excluding table of contents, preface, glossary, index, and marginal glosses , is included, and is represented in the electronic edition as it was in the print edition (so far as is possible). Footnotes are included as notes. Subsequent to OCR review of the scanned text, the text was marked up by Anne Noakes, proofread by Jean Borger, and the markup reviewed by Jason Chu.</P>
<P>In "The Mirror of Saint Edmund," Perry has appended the numbers I, II, &amp;c. to mark the chapters in the original Latin work; these numbers do not appear in the Thornton manuscript and are not included in the electronic text. </P></EDITORIALDECL></ENCODINGDESC></HEADER>
